13 House Cleaner Habits You Should Totally Steal
Always looking for new house cleaning tips to keep your home neat and tidy with minimal effort? Well you might want to check out these 13 House Cleaner Habits You Should Totally Steal! Anda Tanaka is not only an artist, she’s a house cleaning maverick and she has some wonderful tips for us over at the Good Housekeeping website. Anda works with a company called “Two Bettys” and she really loves her job!
First off, she says it’s always a good idea to visualize your home as a “grid” when you’re preparing to clean. In this way, you will become more systematic in your cleaning, and therefore more timely and efficient as well! You won’t end up cleaning the same place twice, nor will you miss a spot either.
Secondly, be sure to clean from the top down! For example, if your home has an upstairs and downstairs, always clean upstairs first. And this also goes for your cleaning technique, as well – do your dusting before you clean the floors. That way, if anything falls to the floor while you’re cleaning, you will be able to remove it later.
Thirdly, always keep useful tools! For example, do you know what the best buffing cloth is? A cloth diaper! That’s right, and Anda always carries one in her cleaning kit. They’re soft, polish surfaces very well, and because you can wash and use them again, they will help you cut down on a lot of disposable waste – like paper towels.
Something you shouldn’t do is use hairspray, at least not in the house. It’s extremely sticky and wherever it lands, it will become a dust magnet. So do be careful in the bathroom!
